Shawn- Was born in 1968 in Medford Oregon. He was raised in the Rogue Valley all of his life by his wonderful parents that are still married and reside in the Rogue Valley. Shawn was not raised in a Christian home, but was always lifted up in prayer for his salvation by his grandfather Carl. At the age of seventeen Shawn was a junior in high school and met Christy, she was fifteen and a sophomore. They began to fall in love. Shawn had gotten involved with a network marketing business in 1987 at the age of 19. During a business meeting they were told if they wanted to learn how to truly be successful they needed to come to a Sunday morning service. Of course at nineteen and seventeen they were into what they felt the world would think as sucessful...MONEY. So they went!!! That day changed their life forever! That was the day they heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how they could receive Him as their Savior. They did! They were also told they needed to get baptized as soon as they could and get into a church that taught about the blood of Jesus, so they were excited....(CONTINUED ) Christy- Was born in 1970 in Mountain View California. Her parents moved three days later to Medford Oregon. Her parents divorced before she was two. Living bBetween California and Oregon Christy felt abandonment for the first time at the age of three. Her mother spiraled into a breakdown leaving Christy alone for three days in their apartment until a neighbor noticed. Her father was notified and came to Portland to get her. At this time Christy didn't really know her dad and felt extremely scared and confused why her mother wasn't there. After her mother was released from the hospital and was well enough to care for her. Christy went back to live with her, moving back to California again, Christy remembers a lot of drinking and different men in and out of the house. Her mother became physically and emotionally abusive. (recognizing now the enemies demise and control he had , she does not blame her mother at all) When her mother wasn't well she would drag her up the stairs by her hair she would leave her in her room for what would seem like forever. As clumps of hair would come out Christy would cry out for someone to make this better. At the age of four almost five her mother had another breakdown, leaving Christy to see her taken away by police. At that time Christy was placed in foster care until her father could come and get her. This was a turning point , she cried out to a God that she didn't really know but He knew her! She looked up at the ceiling as she lay there saying things like, if there is a God, please don't let me grow up and be like this let me have a normal life....let me have a nice family...heavy thoughts for a little girl who ended up having her fifth birthday in a foster home. Christy's father came and got her and but wasn't ready for the responsibility of a five year old little girl. She went to live with her grandparents that she really didn't know. It was very difficult because she truly loved and wanted her mother as ever little girl and boy does. She became very close to her grandma and visited her father and mother when she was able. At the age of nine her father remarried and decided he now could take the responsibility or he could at least pass it on to her step mother that really wasn't ready for the responsibility either. Christy understands now what a difficult situation it was especially because their family didn't know the Lord. Christy struggled to get her step mothers approval but it never seemed to work, nothing ever seemed good enough. It was a very difficult time and she wanted to be with her mother . During the time she had lived with her grandparents she became very close to her grandma, almost like her second mom. At the age of twelve Christy was visiting a friend and was placed in an environment where her innocence as a child was taken...she was violated and never told anyone except her friend that was with her. She felt empty, alone, abandoned and ashamed never telling anyone else until she met Shawn. Then at age thirteen going through difficult times, her grandmother died unexpectedly. This devastated Christy. During this period her family life was very difficult. Christy fell into her own depression staying in her bedroom all the time and never wanting to come out. Finally at fourteen her father sent her to live with her mother. Christy had seen her mother sick many times but never really understood spiritual warfare because she did not yet have a relationship with the Lord. At fifteen her mother spiraled into another breakdown and Christy not wanting her father to find out tried to admit her mother into the hospital herself. Due to her being a minor they would not keep her mother. Christy had already seen her mother in a mental hospital and was desperate for it not to happen again. Christy's mother ended up taking off, leaving Christy to have no idea where her mother was. Christy became very ill herself, not attending school for weeks, not eating, not sleeping, she felt helpless. Her father was notified and came and got her . Christy was so weak and frail herself her father carried her to the car and into his home. Her mother once again ended up in the mental hospital. Christy again visited her mother, it was devastating to see her mother in such horrific conditions. At age fifteen she met someone that would change her life by the name of Shawn, they began to date and fall in love. CONTINUED: After Shawn and Christy heard the gospel of Jesus Christ they were so excited and on fire for the Lord! Christy was living with her father and stepmother, she had just moved home a few months prior to her beginning her senior year of high school. Her mother was living with her grandfather so she was able to visit her on the weekends. A few weekends had passed since their encounter with the Lord and they were ready to get baptized. Christy had an overwhelming feeling one weekend she was staying with her mother. She felt the Lord wake her up on a Sunday morning at 6:00 am, telling to her to go home to her dad's to say goodbye to him. For Christy this made no sense to her because she would stay the latest possible at her mother's, not wanting to go back there. Her dad was leaving for his hunting trip that morning around 7:00 am. She arrived home just as her dad was packing the last items into the camper. She said she needed to say goodbye and they hugged and off he went. Two weeks had passed and it was time to get baptized! Shawn and Christy were so excited! Christy's step mother and little brother were planning on going to see her dad and she knew she would not be able to since she was getting baptized! Her father called home on that Saturday to check in, and as she explained she would not be coming to see him, he seemed very excited and proud of her. He told her he loved her which he rarely said. So Sunday November 1st, 1987 came and Shawn and Christy were baptized together in the river with it snowing outside! Then Monday November 2 came and Shawn had dinner at Christy's house that evening. As Shawn got ready to leave they had noticed a police car driving through the neighborhood. Shawn left and Christy and her step mom talked about how glad they were that her dad was coming home the next day. The doorbell rang and tragedy hit!!! They were told Christy's father had been killed! Christy herself felt that she wanted to end her life, but yet the day before she had just had an encounter with her Heavenly Father. She called Shawn and he came over and brought his Bible with him,he prayed over her all night as she laid and cried in disbelief. Shawn and Christy later married in June 1989. Her heart has been to be a wife and mother and be the best she could be. Always fearing abandonment, all she wanted was to love her family. During their first ten years of marriage they endured many challenges ,struggling with her emotions and temper and always in fear of losing Shawn..They served the Lord but did not realize who they were in the Kingdom, as many do not. Still living their lives as carnal Christians as the Israelites did in the desert, ruled by emotions and feelings. There life went fairly "normal," with normal struggles whatever that is!! When they truly decided to become destructive to the kingdom of darkness, that is when things began to get crazier. They would not look to themselves or to man to save them, they would look to their Lord Jesus!! In September 1999 life was going okay. They had just come out of some major financial struggles. They owned a business that was beginning to do well, had a beautiful family, they were Associate Pastor's of a new pioneering church, thing were good. One day everything changed!! Shawn had an eye exam for nothing major. A simple eye exam. That particular day went different, Christy went out to the office to fine her adopted neighbor hood cat "Puff" caring the largest dead crow into her office. Christy new something wasn't right! She could feel it! She had felt it one time before, a time right before her father was killed! What did crow mean? She felt death and called Shawn and told him about the crow. This day changed their life forever! The eye exam showed Shawn's optic nerves were extremely swollen. They scheduled a CT scan for later that week, not realizing what was wrong? Shawn was 31, in perfect health, never had a broken bone or a stitch in his body. . ..That Thursday he had the Ct scan. That evening the world as they knew it fell apart. The phone rang and Shawn was not home, Christy answered it and replied he wasn't there. They told her to get him to Emergency right away! Frantically trying to reach him, he arrived in the driveway to head to the hospital. Shawn was told at age 31, he had the largest Acoustic Neuroma Tumor they had ever seen in someone living. (7cm at largest point) This was all found from his simple eye exam! The first surgery was immediately scheduled, they were told to expect the worst! Shawn had a 50% chance of survival the other 50% would be a very hard life. A life of not remembering his family, possibly never to walk, possible becoming a vegetable all of this if he lived. The morning of the surgery was beyond difficult! Knowing what the risks were and if he did make it this was surgery was just to save his life. Another surgery would be needed by a specialist....As Shawn kissed Christy and the boys goodbye,it was unfathomable. He was unable to have any medication to calm him or sedate him due to the swelling. The nurse asked him to place himself on the gurney as he shook and prayed for the Lord to have mercy on his life and family. As for Christy she spoke nothing but what she wanted to happen and spoke every promise the Bible gave. She knew the battle was in her mind and she had to fight to not speak ANY seeds that she did not want sown into their lives! The Bible says we are snared by the words of our mouth and she would not take a chance! The surgery was MIRACULOUS! Out of the hospital in four days. The doctors knew their FAITH! Now they knew another surgery was to come and continued to pray! This doctor that "happened" to specialize in this exact tumor was moving to Medford in January 2000. He would look at Shawn then. There should have been no worries because this was told to be one of the slowest growing tumors anyone could have. December came and it was Christmas morning, Shawn had not been feeling well? He kept saying he felt like his head was going to blow up! He had got up to the restroom and passed out, Christy thought he died! About ready to call 911. Shawn came to and said he had just got up to quick. Christy called the doctors and told them. The doctors said this new doctor would be in town the beginning of January so they scheduled an MRI and an appointment January 7th. We met Dr. Ross that day for the first time, he didn't know what he was getting into. He told us the TUMOR HAD GROWN BACK LARGER THAN IT WAS IN SEPTEMBER! At this time he had done over 2500 of these surgeries and had NEVER SEEN ANYONE LIVING with this size of tumor! SURGERY WAS scheduled for that Monday. He had not even toured the hospital. He looked at us and told us once again all the horrific things to expect. Christy said I rebuke that and trust in the Lord Jesus, it shocked Dr. Ross...he looked at her and said you need to save your philosophies for later....Christy said, MY PHILOSOPHISE have gotten me this far and I will keep them! That surgery was another Miracle! He ended up enduring THREE BRIAN SURGERIES in NINE MONTH! His third one was 18 hours long and ended him in the hospital for months, this one literally almost killed him! He endured months of therapy , he was unable to think accurately not knowing what was real, even his wife and children weren't real to him. Christy would literally stand on her Bible to her and answer her prayers! For months she laid with her Bible as her pillow praying for his deliverance! One day she received a phone call from a friend asking her if Shawn had told her about the smith and wesson? They had been over visiting earlier. Christy didn't even know what that was. She had never wanted a gun in their home because of her father being shot. Her friend told her to go look in her closet in her bedroom. As Christy ran up the stairs not believing this was happening, she cried out to God! HELP! This husband of hers was the most positive God fearing man she had ever know and now this! WHAT! ? Suicide, maybe killing the family he thinks isn't real? Sure enough there it was. A shoe box all dusty with fresh finger prints all over it! Christy had enough! She got furious at the devil! She had seen the enemy torment he mother, take her father and now try to do both to her husband, ENOUGH! She called her friends to come over with as many that could and lay hands, anoint Shawn with oil and pray for his deliverance! Nothing happened at that moment, everyone left and she continued to pray. Later that evening she left her husband and children with her in laws so she could go to the grocery store. As she pushed the cart down the isle, she kept praying! Her cell phone rang and it was from home. As she answered it was Shawn he said "Hi Honey" he had not called her honey in months! He continued.." I'm back, the cloud had been lifted!" And people think we don't wage a spiritual warfare! Christy raced home! So for 2 1/2 years they worked on getting their lives back together. They had been told Shawn could NEVER ENDURE ANOTHER SURGERY, if they could make it two years with clean MRI's they would be out of the woods... At the 2 1/2 year MRI, The battle began again! The tumor was growing! They remembered what the third surgery had brought and they new they were told Shawn could never endure another surgery! This time they had to uproot and go to Arizona leaving there comfort zone and much support. Shawn's family came and some friends and they saw MIRACLES even MORE GLORIOUS! OUT OF THE HOSPITAL IN THREE DAYS! Never to see another day of therapy! The hospital and doctors KNEW THE LORD WAS PRESENT! Shawn has battled physical, emotional and financial hardship, but PRAYER and God's promises have gotten him through! God has taken Shawn and Christy out of the business world this last December, it was there "seventh" year in business. As he has closed that door He has now revealed and is opening a new door! This "eighth" year is about "New Beginnings." They have so many more testimonies than what is on this website of the MIRACULOUS! They have seen Christy's mother be diagnosed with stage four cancer having the most chemotherapy and radiation and not losing hair or being sick, from almost dying two years ago again with Sepsis and Septic shock and the doctors telling Christy there was no hope! Of course they know Christy at the hospital VERY WELL and know her FAITH and her mother made it!They still wage a warfare for her mother! They have also broke free from financial devastation and much more! To hear them share their TESTIMONY IN PERSON IS RIVETING AND LIFE CHANGING! THIS IS HOW WE SEE STRONG HOLDS BROKEN AND MIRACLES HAPPEN! THE LORDS ANOINTING IS UPON THEIR LIFE! PRAISE BE TO THE ALMIGHTY KING JESUS!
